Book review: Paranormal Legacy

You might recall that a month ago, I hosted a stop on Caitlin Hensley's blog tour for her debut novel, Paranormal Legacy. Well, now I've actually read the book, as part of a "read for review" exchange with Caitlin. You've already seen what glowing praise she had for Chasing Shadows, now go take a look at what my opinion of book one of The Inhuman Chronicles -- I give it 4 stars and I recommend it for everyone!

How charming!

Forgive the pun, but aren't these charms pretty awesome?

My good friend Michelle Scarberry makes all kinds of cute charms from polymer clay, and she made these for me recently. The big ones are for me to wear on a necklace, and the little ones are for adding to charm bracelets, cell phones, bookmarks, and that sort of thing. You could probably make them into earrings if you wanted to!

Hmm, I might have to try that...

A fantastic four stars!

Author Caitlin Hensley, who was a guest here on the Diary just last month, has read and reviewed Chasing Shadows -- and she gave it four stars! Many thanks to Caitlin for taking the time out to read the book, and for the kinds words she had to say. Below is the link to her review on Amazon.com:

"Wow!"

About Beth Ann:
Beth Ann Masarik was born on Long Island, NY in the year 1984 with an over-active imagination. She used to love playing make-believe games, and now loves creating her own fantasy worlds. Masarik has been writing since she was 15 years old, and had her first newspaper article published in her high school newspaper in her sophomore year. She has taken several creative writing classes, and started writing her very first novel in college, and is currently searching for the right literary agent. Aside from writing novels, Masarik enjoys bowling, gaming, and role playing online. She enjoys reading fantasy novels written by Richelle Mead, L.J. Smith, and J.K. Rowling, and looks to them for role models.

Beth is recently married, and when she isn’t writing or role playing, she is found volunteering down at her church.

Masarik is also the founder of Literary Lunes Magazine/Literary Lunes Publications, a bi-monthly 'zine that is dedicated to promoting authors. You can find out more about Literary Lunes by going to its website at www.literarylunespublications.com.

"From the Shadows" gets another 5 stars!

Book blogger Cat Alley, who has read and reviewed for me before, had this to say about From the Shadows: "...couldn't put it down."

You can also read the review on her blog, Read This!

Thanks so much, Cat, I'm glad you enjoyed the book!

Going on tour.

The last few days, I've been working to organize my very first blog tour. Not one of those round-robin kind of tours I've taken part in before, or one where I hosted another author. This one is all about me asking other people to host me on their blogs to help me promote my book. They'll post the cover of the book, a synopsis and excerpt, and also a picture of me and a questionnaire I've filled out. The tour, to promote the release of From the Shadows, is my first major promotional effort that I've tried to put together, and I am hoping it will interest more readers in my work.

With the last stop being right here on the Diary, there are a total of 12 -- that's right, 12! -- stops on this tour; it will take place from April 24th to May 5th. I am amazed, honored, and humbled by the responses I got when I put out a hosting call, and by the generosity of the eleven ladies who will be helping me promote FtS. Their willingness to help out a fellow indie writer is nothing short of awesome.

So, keep the Diary on your browsing schedule, as very soon I'll be sharing a list of the tour stops and a promo poster with a very special message you won't want to miss!

Already 5 stars!

The wonderful Jana, who proofread for me, has posted her review of From the Shadows!

"Another great read..."

Thanks SO much, Jana!

From the Shadows is LIVE!

Maybe KDP decided to give me an early birthday present, because From the Shadows went live on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca before midnight!

Not all markets are available at the time of this posting, but you can rest assured I will add them as they go live! Also, foreign market prices are meant to be based on the US price - I will have that snafu fixed up as soon as possible.

Celebrate with me!

Ladies and gentlemen,

Thursday is my birthday -- I'll be a another year older as of 7:03 a.m. on April the 11th! Oh, but that's not all the good news. I'm also, at long last, releasing the second book in my Shadow Chronicles series, From the Shadows!

You read that right, I'm celebrating by birthday with the release of a brand new book! Here's what's gonna happen is this new paranormal romance by yours truly:

Shapeshifter Juliette Singleton left her home to escape the oppressive concern of her family ... and the memory of being raped. She finds little solace, however, as her sleep is plagued with nightmares, forcing her to re-live the brutal assault over and over again.

Race Covington, a chimaera, thought he was the only one of his kind. Then he reunited with Juliette, whom he had known as a child, and discovered to his delight that he was not alone after all -- and the both of them discovered that they were destined to be together.
Meeting her mate leads Juliette to open up about the attack and begin the healing process, while Race believes meeting his means it is definitely time to escape the employ of a dangerous and vindictive vampire. They decide it is time to start their lives over again -- together -- but going home proves to be harder than they expected when they are forced to confront a dangerous foe neither could have ever imagined.

Links will be added to the Bookstore as soon as it goes live, so be sure to stop by again to get your copy!
